Documentation of the entire project, which took place between March and July 2024 in Werder.
In the participatory project VER_ORTEN, the Sudden Starlings Collective, with 15 participants aged between 16 and 70, seeks out favourite, memorable and inspirational places in Werder an der Havel and explores them through dance and performance. How do we shape our surroundings and how do our surroundings shape us? How can we appropriate spaces in different ways? Is a place always already there or do we create it first? The result is an installation that combines biographical-documentary work with site-specific performance practice and video. Traces emerge and disappear, movement becomes stillness, new perspectives on space and bodies open up. What does it mean to VER_ORTEN?
